The short version
Scrap.io exports from a pre-built, continuously updated database of Google Maps places, with an API, MCP access and wider areas on higher plans. loclay runs every search live and adds the decision maker when the business's site names one.
We make loclay, so we've stuck to what each company publishes, and listed where Scrap.io is the better choice.

What Scrap.io is best at
Because Scrap.io keeps its own database, it's built for breadth and speed:
- Big exports by city, region, or a whole country on its Company plan
- Reverse search and enrichment of a file you upload
- API and MCP access on every plan
- A claim that every data point is traceable to its source
What 5,000 leads cost
One month, 5,000 leads with emails, at each company's published prices:
- loclay
- $29 (Starter, 5,000 leads)
- Scrap.io
- $49, or $35 billed yearly (Basic, 10,000 credits)
Scrap.io's smallest plan includes 10,000 credits; each place counts once per 30 days, and unused credits don't carry over.
Live search vs database export
Exporting from a database is fast, but what you get is as current as the last update. loclay doesn't store a database: each search queries Google Maps and reads each business's website at the moment you run it.

The decision maker
loclay reads each business's contact, about and team pages for who runs it, and names a person only when the site names them in a role, with their direct email or phone when it's published next to their name. Scrap.io's site doesn't list a decision maker field.
Choose Scrap.io if
You want large exports by region or country, you need to enrich a list you already have, or you want API or MCP access, and business-level emails are enough.
Choose loclay if
You sell to owners and want their name and direct contact when the business publishes it, from a search run today rather than a stored copy.
Bottom line
Scrap.io is faster for exporting whole regions. loclay is fresher, and finds the person, not just the business.
