The short version
Both search Google Maps and find the owner's contact details for local businesses. LocalPipe goes further for owner names, cross-referencing websites, social pages, BBB and Secretary of State filings, verifies owner emails, and has an API. loclay names an owner only when the business's own website does, shows the page behind every contact, and costs less per lead.
We make loclay, so we've stuck to what each company publishes, and listed where LocalPipe is the better choice.

What LocalPipe is best at
LocalPipe is built around one job, the owner's contact, and goes to more sources for it:
- Owner names from business websites, social pages, BBB listings and Secretary of State filings; it says it finds an owner for about 75% of businesses
- Owner emails it verifies before delivery, and direct owner phones
- Pay-per-find pricing, so you pay for contacts found rather than rows
- A REST API, webhooks and a ready-made Clay template
What 5,000 leads cost
One month, 5,000 leads with emails, at each company's published prices:
- loclay
- $29 (Starter, 5,000 leads, everything included)
- LocalPipe
- $97 (Growth, 8,000 credits): up to 4,000 owner emails at 2 credits each
LocalPipe charges per contact found, so the cost depends on how many owners it finds; phones cost 5 credits each. loclay charges per lead, with every contact it finds included.
Where loclay is different: the source of every contact
loclay only uses what a business publishes about itself. It names a person when their own website names them as owner, founder, president, GM or office manager, credits an email to them only when it's printed next to their name, and labels every contact with the page it came from.
That finds fewer owners than combining state filings and social profiles, but every one can be checked by opening the page it came from. LocalPipe's site doesn't say whether each contact shows where it was found.

Choose LocalPipe if
You prospect US businesses and want the highest owner find rate, you need verified owner emails and direct phones, or you run outreach through an API or Clay.
Choose loclay if
You want to see where each contact came from before it goes into a campaign, you prospect outside the US, or you want every published email, phone and social for each business at a lower price per lead.
Bottom line
LocalPipe finds more owners, especially in the US. loclay finds fewer, and shows you exactly where each one came from.
